US film studio Warner Brothers has chosen Vietnam’s Hang En (Swift Cave) as one of the locations for its upcoming Hollywood blockbuster Peter Pan.Hang En
The studio scouted Vietnam in 2010 with the approval
of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, and explored the cave
in Phong Nha-Ke Bang National Park. The location crew used drones to
film the cave for suitability in the storybook character Peter Pan’s
flying shots.
Several other locations, including Ha Long Bay,
mountainous provinces of Bac Can and Ha Giang were looked at for other
exterior sequences.
Howard Limbert, chief of the British Royal Team of Cave Researchers, which helped map the caves in Vietnam, led the film crew to scout the park.
A trailer for the film has attracted more than 11 millions views on YouTube.
Hang En is 1,645m long and was named one of the most captivating caves on Earth by National Geographic.
Peter Pan is directed by Joe Wright and stars Levi Miller, Amanda Seyfried, Hugh Jackman and Garrett Hedlund.
It was scheduled for release in the northern summer, but has been
pushed back until the autumn. No reason was given for the delay.
